— Randall was a frontline worker doing street outreach in Minneapolis when he attended a presentation by Pivot lawyers at the 2010 Harm Reduction Conference that partially inspired him to go to law school. He attended classes at night while leading an outreach team and then managing a youth homeless shelter. After graduating, he worked as a criminal defense lawyer at the Hennepin County Office of the Public Defender, largely representing racialized and economically vulnerable people charged with lifestyle crimes.

After moving to Vancouver in 2018, Randall primarily represented refugee claimants and foreign nationals facing removal from Canada due to criminal charges. He has been an associate lawyer at Edelmann & Co., ran a solo practice, and worked as a staff lawyer for Migrant Workers' Centre and Prisoners' Legal Services. He also sits on the board of Kinbrace Community Society. He is an immigrant and a guest on stolen land, and he is licensed to practice law in British Columbia, Minnesota, and Washington.
