Media advisory: Abbotsford homeless mark anniversary of “Chicken Manure Day”

Abbotsford, BC [June 3] — Members of Abbotsford’s homeless community will hold a public demonstration tomorrow to mark the two-year anniversary of “Chicken Manure Day” and protest the continued enforcement of bylaws that displace the city’s homeless.

In June 2013, City of Abbotsford officials spread chicken manure on a homeless camp on Gladys Avenue across from the Salvation Army, launching a human rights complaint from members of BC/Yukon Association of Drug War Survivors (DWS).
