In September 2019, a group of older, homeless community members formed a small encampment at Crippen Regional Park, called "Bowen Seniors Tent City," on unceded Squamish lands. Below is our letter urging members of the public health community to stand with people experiencing homelessness on Bowen Island and to support them in their call for adequate, dignified, housing, as well as to support them in taking the steps they are forced to take to survive in the meantime.
