(From Culture Saves Lives)
10,000+ people have died needlessly of overdose in Canada since the public heath emergency was announced in the spring of 2016. Clearly our best efforts are not working. New actions and brave initiatives are required immediately.
On July 3rd, 2018, CSL, CAPUD, OPS, and WAHRS are launching the first ever Chrome Ribbon Campaign to commemorate our loved ones lost to overdose and uplift all the survivors.
Simply put, if the water supply is poisoned we would get clean water to the people by any means necessary. We must use the same pragmatism and practicality in drug policy. Using substances should not be a death sentence.
Wear a Chrome Ribbon to honour those lost to overdose and to support survivors.
Wear a Chrome Ribbon to shine the light on decriminalization.
Also join our communities on August 31st in lighting a candle at sundown with vigil for all our loved ones lost and communities in distress.
The Chrome Ribbon Campaign Launch is Tuesday, July 3rd, 10 am at 58 W. Hastings.
Everyone is welcome. Also on Tuesday, the theatre production, Illicit, debuts the Orpheum Annex at 7 pm: Illicit, A Shadow Story not to be missed.
