Pivot Legal Society's Annual General Meeting is a great opportunity to hear about highlights from the past year and get a sneak peak at our upcoming social change campaigns.

Membership

In October 2016, at our last AGM, Pivot Legal Society’s membership approved a special resolution to make changes to the Society’s Constitution and Bylaws in anticipation of the new BC Societies Act.

The new Bylaws include changes to Pivot’s membership rules and application process.  Those changes will come into effect on December 1, 2017.

If you do not apply to renew your membership before December 1, 2017 you will cease to be a member on that date.  Under the new Bylaws, all current memberships will expire on that date unless renewed. After December 1, 2017, memberships will expire at the end of Pivot’s AGM each year. All members must apply to renew their membership annually.

You can apply to renew your membership at any time on our website, or in person at the AGM on June 20, 2017.  The Board of Directors will review all applications for membership under the new Bylaws prior to December 1, 2017 and then on a rolling basis going forward.
