Communications & Digital Engagement Manager

Peter Kim

Peter has been a passionate advocate of human rights and social justice since his time at university (UBC) and journalism school (BCIT) where he co-founded BCIT’s chapter of Journalists For Human Rights. For over a decade he worked as broadcast/digital reporter in Vancouver and Toronto for CKNW, City (formerly Citytv) and Global. During this time, he specialized in data journalism, drawn and excited by its ability convey meaning with persuasive graphics.

As Pivot’s Communications and Digital Engagement Manager Peter continues his role as a storyteller, bringing to life the activism and resilience of the community at the heart of the organization’s work. In his spare time he is an avid tennis player, runner, and enjoys spending time outdoors. He is also co-founder of the Vancouver chapter of Data for Good, an organization of data scientists and programmers who use data science to engender positive social change.
