Katie’s journey to Pivot started when she was first exposed to fundraising as a student at Simon Fraser University. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree in art and cultural studies she came to realize that development work was a crucial necessity to most arts organizations, and upon completing her education, decided to professionally follow fundraising instead of curatorial studies.
Katie cut her teeth at the Vancouver Art Gallery and the PuSh Festival, where she grew to manage the annual giving program at the latter. Life’s unexpected turns took Katie to Melbourne, Australia in 2016 where she had the chance to expand her horizons by working for the University of Melbourne. Freshly returned to Vancouver in February 2017, Katie is excited to be expanding her horizons once again by becoming involved in social justice and causes close to her heart by working with Pivot.
Outside of work hours, Katie loves to cook, read, and remain a part of the arts community by attending live performances as often as possible.
