— Originally from unceded Algonquin & Anishinabek territory, Kareem brings an unrelenting passion for anti-oppression and learning to his work at Pivot. He is particularly interested in how the legal profession can work in solidarity with marginalized groups and strives to ensure that the next generation of lawyers are equipped with a robust, intersectional lens when tackling both mundane and complex legal issues. Kareem has worked alongside communities primarily in Montreal and Nairobi, where his organizing was mostly centered around Indigenous sovereignty, sexual violence, labour exploitation, and sexual minorities.
