Access to safe injection

The evidence is clear: safe injection facilities, where people who use drugs can inject under the supervision of a nurse, prevent overdoses and save lives. Yet, in 2015 the federal government enacted the Respect for Communities Act, creating unnecessary barriers to opening facilities that offer this proven harm reduction service. Pivot is working to have this law repealed so that life-saving harm reduction interventions like safe injection facilities are available in communities that desperately need them.
