Legal volunteers taking housing affidavits in Vancouver's
Downtown Eastside.
Are you interesting in investing your
time and energy towards pushing the envelope of social change?
Pivot offers a challenging and rewarding environment
fueled by a commitment to justice, respect and compassion.
Pivot particularly seeks people who have demonstrated
their commitment through previous work, volunteer efforts,
and extracurricular activities during school.
In-house volunteering:
Event coordination Pivot
has several events every year, including the photography contest
award ceremony, photography exhibition openings and coordinating
the annual auction.
Graphic design We have opportunities
for trained designers to get experience in publication and
website design. Vancouver's economy is hot, and experienced and recently-trained design graduates are hard to find as volunteers, so if you want to make a difference, contact us now.
IT program administration As
a growing organization, Pivot's office is a great place to
gain IT experience.
Media archiving We always need
volunteers to help us not only scan print media but also manage
the growing archive and lay out the articles in our media
manual.
Writing Help us produce the Pivot Post! We also need writers and editors to help
write reports. |

Outreach volunteering:

Steve and Tebasum gather votes from the public for Hope in Shadows, July 2007.
Hope In Shadows The annual
Downtown Eastside Hope
in Shadows photography contest needs volunteers to help in 2008.
Exhibition Help us with the annual Hope in Shadows exhibition in October 2008. If you would like to help with this exhibition at the Pendulum Gallery, we would like to hear from you!
Auction The Pivot Foundation
2008 Christmas Auction will be held in November. Vacations,
jewellery, art, bodywork, fine crafts, sculpture, and professional
services will be up for silent and open bidding.
Booth team The Booth Team is
the main community outreach for Pivot. The team, which sets
up tables around town educating the public about the important
work Pivot is doing, was formed in Spring 2005.
Annual Booth Team events include: Granville
Island Market (last week of May), the Commercial Drive Street
Festival, the Vancouver Public Library's Community Day, the
Vancouver Folk Festival and the BALLE day for local Vancouver
businesses (where we sold our calendar).
